Abstract
Child development is a crucial process that shapes the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social well-being of individuals. Social workers play a pivotal role in ensuring that children receive the necessary support, protection, and resources to reach their full potential. They work in various settings such as schools, child welfare agencies, hospitals, and community organizations to address issues like child abuse, neglect, education, mental health, and family support. This article explores the multifaceted role of social workers in child development, emphasizing their interventions, strategies, and impact. It discusses the importance of early childhood care, advocacy for children’s rights, family-centered practices, and the integration of social work in educational settings. Furthermore, it examines the challenges social workers face and suggests strategies for overcoming these hurdles.
